Drishyam 3: The Conclusion gets straight into the central conflict and keeps the investigation at the heart of the story. Compared to the previous installments, the film takes a more serious and intense approach, with the family track taking a back seat for most of the runtime.
The first half is the biggest strength, with the proceedings moving at a good pace and steadily building curiosity. Jaideep Ahlawat delivers an excellent performance and makes a strong impression, particularly in the investigation scenes. His face-offs and interactions with Ajay Devgn provide some of the most engaging moments, especially around the interval.
A few portions involving Vijay and Savio slow things down slightly, but they do not completely derail the flow. The Gaitonde scenes provide some lighter moments and offer a welcome change from the otherwise serious proceedings.
The second half continues to maintain the tension, with the investigation becoming more layered as the story moves towards its final act. Prakash Raj is impressive and brings authority to his role, while Ajay Devgn and the rest of the principal cast deliver dependable performances.
The final stretch is where the film becomes particularly interesting. While a couple of developments can be anticipated, the screenplay still manages to surprise with a few well-placed turns. The way Vijay stays ahead of the investigation and carefully executes his plans is one of the film’s better aspects.
The deception and manipulation portions are handled effectively and provide some of the most satisfying moments in the latter part of the film. The background score supports the suspense well, while the cinematography complements the investigative atmosphere.
However, the film does have a few drawbacks. Certain portions could have been tighter, and audiences familiar with the franchise may find some revelations predictable. Shriya Saran is less convincing in her role, while Tabu, despite her presence, is not given enough material to make a stronger impact.
