Faria Abdullah on Sigma: “It’s Not Just a Heist Thriller”

Faria Abdullah has opened up about her upcoming film Sigma, starring Sundeep Kishan and directed by Jason Sanjay, sharing interesting details about the story, characters, music and working experience on the sets.

While Sigma is being presented as a heist thriller, Faria believes the film offers much more than just the central heist plot. According to the actress, the movie blends emotions, entertainment, action, romance and commercial elements, making it a film that can appeal to a wide range of audiences.

Faria Abdullah Says Sigma Is More Than a Heist Thriller

Talking about Sigma, Faria said the film should not be viewed as a straightforward heist thriller. She revealed that the story has different emotions and a variety of scenes, along with plenty of commercial entertainment.

The actress also believes that the film will work for audiences across age groups. She feels that Sigma has enough family-friendly elements for audiences to watch it together in theatres.

Faria described the film as a rooted heist adventure, rather than a story that feels heavily influenced by foreign settings or concepts. She explained that the situations and dynamics in the film are connected to Indian sensibilities and are presented in a way that feels familiar and natural.

According to her, the film’s heist elements are combined with emotional portions and commercial moments, giving the narrative a broader appeal.

Faria Praises Jason Sanjay

Faria also spoke positively about Jason Sanjay, who is making his directorial debut with Sigma. She recalled being impressed by his confidence and stage presence during the audio launch.

The actress particularly remembered how Jason specifically asked for a podium before addressing the gathering. She jokingly said that his confidence on stage even made her feel that he could potentially enter politics someday, referring to him humorously as a “Future CM.”

However, Faria’s comments about Jason were not limited to his public appearance. She also praised the way he handled the film’s sets and managed a large-scale production at a relatively young age.

She said Jason was clear about his vision and remained calm while handling the film. According to Faria, his leadership helped the entire team work towards the same goal.

“Vijay Didn’t Come to the Sets”

Faria also revealed an interesting detail about Jason Sanjay’s approach to the project. According to her, Thalapathy Vijay did not visit the sets during the shoot and did not call during the filming process.

She explained that Jason wanted to establish himself through his own work and did not want his father’s presence or influence to become a factor during the making of the film.

Faria feels that once audiences watch Sigma, they will look beyond Jason being Vijay’s son and focus on his own talent and abilities as a filmmaker.

Sundeep Kishan Suggested Faria’s Name

Faria also revealed that her casting in Sigma has an interesting connection with her friendship with Sundeep Kishan.

The actress said she and Sundeep have been good friends for a long time and had been looking for an opportunity to work together. She also mentioned that their height compatibility was something that could work well on screen.

Interestingly, Faria revealed that Sundeep Kishan himself suggested her name to Jason Sanjay for the film.

The actress’s association with the project therefore came through a combination of her friendship with Sundeep and the director’s vision for the character.

Thaman’s Music and Background Score

Music is another important part of Sigma, according to Faria Abdullah. She said that having songs reach audiences before the film’s release is a major advantage for the team.

She mentioned the rap song, the romantic montage “Ayyayyo Paglaadi”, and the “Sigma Style” dance number that appears towards the end of the movie.

Faria feels that the songs have added another layer to the film and helped strengthen its commercial appeal.

She also had special praise for composer Thaman, particularly for the background score. The actress hinted that the BGM will be one of the highlights of the film and described it as being on another level.

Faria even suggested that if Sigma connects strongly with audiences, there could be scope for a Sigma 2 in the future.

A Team Working With One Vision

Faria further appreciated the technical team behind Sigma. According to her, everyone worked with a common vision and remained on the same page throughout the production.

She particularly credited Jason Sanjay for bringing clarity to the project and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere on the sets despite the scale of the production.

For Faria, that collaborative approach has been one of the positive aspects of working on the film.

Faria Abdullah on Success

The actress also opened up about her approach towards success and the pressure that comes with waiting for the right opportunities.

Faria said she believes success will eventually come but does not want to constantly question why it has not happened yet. She feels that repeatedly asking herself why success has not arrived can become a never-ending thought process.

Instead, she prefers to focus on her work and allow things to happen naturally.

With Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah leading the cast and Jason Sanjay at the helm, Sigma is shaping up as a film that combines heist elements with emotion, action, romance, music and commercial entertainment.

Faria’s comments suggest that audiences should not approach Sigma as a conventional heist thriller alone. The actress believes the film has a wider emotional and commercial canvas and is designed to offer an entertaining theatrical experience for different sections of the audience.

Now, the film’s theatrical release will determine how audiences respond to Jason Sanjay’s vision and the world he has created with Sigma.
